Designer Sarees by Vintage Desi

Someone once asked me Whats my favorite outfit, the answer was "If its not a hot day then its a Saree else got to be a Dress". But this time it was a hot day and yet I wore a saree. Surprisingly it was comfortable and not just stylish but bold enough to make a style statement. This was what I wore on Day 1 for Indibloggers conference on Oct 31st in The Lalith, Mumbai.

The word Designer sarees mostly reminds you of bling and sequence work, something jazzy filled with shine. But for this occasion I needed a designer saree which is exactly the opposite. Firstly since the conference was in Mumbai which is known for the hot weather, I needed the fabric to be light in weight and breathable. I wanted to wear something traditional and Indian but with a modern flare. So obviously that led me to think of Vintage Desi - online store where we get easy access to high end designer labels as well as local boutiques. I spoke to one of designer's from Vintage Desi told her exactly what I needed. Since am all about wearing bright colors I thought why not experiment with neons.

Whenever I explain another person of what my idea of a garment or dress is, am very skeptical if they could really see the picture i have painted in my mind. So this time was no different. I wasn't really sure till the last minute how this particular saree would turn out to be.

But as you can see Vintage Desi delivered what they had promised me. The Designer saree was in sync with my imagination. The fabric was light in weight and yet not translucent, perfectly the way  I needed it to be.  I styled it with a colorful crop top with high round neck and long sleeves. I added some gold to the look  with my golden ear cuffs and old shimmery belt which I also wore here. Without any exaggeration I totally love the designer saree and the entire look.

Most people think Saree is a boring traditional garment which makes you look old fashioned but  I beg to differ. I Believe you could be covered from top to toe, wrapped up in 9 yards and still can manage to look Sexy, at-least thats how I felt.
