RAW Seattle - Model Trips !

Raw Seattle, Pictures form local Seattle events, photographers meet in Seattle, Seattle artists,

This Wednesday we attended an Allure event organized by RAWArtists. RAW Seattle Artists is an independent arts organization, for artists, by artists. The event was held in Neumos Seattle. This organization provides an informal fun platform to independent budding artists to showcase their work. There were different kinds of photographers, make up artists, body painters, abstract painters, designers, leather accessory manufactures,  hand made jewelry sellers and so on. It was a cozy place which provided a nice environment for all artists and audience to interact with one another.

I spoke to this fabulous artist named Grace Blanchard who drove all the way from Spokane, I just kept looking at her work and what master pieces she had created. There were so many photographers in this event but she just stood apart, her pictures were like a painting which had so much to tell, each said a story of their own.
I personally loved the pictures where she shot herself and the way she used her body to create these stunning refreshing images is beyond my words can describe. Here is a short glimpse of her work but you should definitely visit her facebook page to see more. please click here !

On the stage were few bands who played their music with some really good artists and musicians. I personally loved the Dj who was fresh and innovative. The real deal on the stage was the emcee  who was a comedian and he kept us entertained with his terrific sense of humor.

The best part was kept at the last which was the Fashion Show !

Yes I love attending Fashion shows, even though this one didn't really match my expectation. Thats a different story altogether. Local fashion designers got a chance to showcase their work with models walking the makeshift ramp. In the middle of the fashion show there was a model who fumbled in her heels which were not even stilettos but looked like comfortable 3 inch wedges. The first she came we thought she was nervous and so her knees were shaking. But it really caught everyones attention the second time she lousily walked the ramp almost tripping thrice. At one point the nearest audience member just rushed to her when she almost fell while climbing down the stairs. Third time she barely managed to walk holding hands of another model and the designer herself.

After this the emcee came on stage to call upon the next designer. Before he did, he cracked a small joke on a lighter note. He said "That was a great show even though somebody had one too many drinks. I am not sure if it was the shoes or what..."
Even before he could complete his sentence the same model who had thrown away her shoes in disgust a few seconds ago came rushing to him and started saying something angrily but we could not hear what she said.

Then it was the designer who was in fumes she snatched the mic from him and said "This is totally unprofessional, I and my models put in a lot of hard work for this show and you representing RAW Seattle artist cannot talk about another artist this way", the crowd now took sides and the main organizer came to the rescue and switched off the sound system.
Seeing the unexpected reaction the emcee said" I am sorry, its my job to make people laugh, I am a comedian and thats what I do.. I apologize.."
And the show went on...

But now everyones attention was drawn away from the stage and each had a opinion to share :

"Oh, He cannot talk like that and crack a joke on the lady who is walking the ramp..."

"She drinks before the show and you call the guy unprofessional,  really?"

"The joke was too harsh, he shouldn't have said what was really obvious to all of us"

"The designer should not have made that a big deal, after all he was just trying to make us smile"

What do you think?? Who was at fault : The Emcee or The Model ??

(Here are some more pictures from the event...)
